Workshop Location

  • Sun June 2 - Fri June 7:
    Four Partners Place Room 3065
    on OU's Research Campus
301 David L. Boren Blvd, Norman OK 73019

Weather

Check the Norman weather forecast before traveling.

According to weather.com, as of Fri May 31 2019, the weather forecast for the workshop week will be wet: rain likely most of the week (30-60% chance each day except Fri at 20%), highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s F, lows in the mid to high 60s F, light winds (7 - 13 mph), humidity 73-84%.

Buildings on the OU Norman campus are all air conditioned, and may be uncomfortably cool, or uncomfortably warm, for some attendees. We recommend dressing in layers, and bringing a jacket, sweater or sweatshirt.

What to Bring

Clothing: We recommend dressing in layers. Expect to dress light enough for being outdoors a little but in an air conditioned classroom a lot. The classroom may be a bit ccol, or a bit warm, or just right. We encourage you to bring a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater.

Laptop or Tablet Recommended: We encourage you to bring a laptop or tablet with you to the workshop venue.

Driving Directions from the Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) to Norman

  1. As you drive out of the OKC airport, look for the on-ramp to I-44 on your right. There's only one such on-ramp, which is actually I-44 westbound.
  2. After you've been on I-44 W for a few miles, you'll come to a fork between I-44 W and I-44 E. Stay on I-44 W on the right side.
  3. You'll come to a major curve. DON'T take the I-44 W exit; instead, stay on the same road, which will become I-240 E (go figure).
  4. After several miles, take the I-35 S exit (toward Dallas).
  5. Follow I-35 S out of Oklahoma City, through Moore, and into Norman.

Driving Directions from I-35 to the Quality Inn
2841 S. Classen Blvd., Norman OK, 405-701-4011

  1. BE ALERT! I-35 in Norman is undergoing a lot of construction, specifically around the exit we want you to take.
  2. From I-35, take the OK Hwy 9 eastbound exit (exit #108). As you come to the end of the exit ramp, there's a gas station on your left, on the northwest corner of OK Hwy 9 and 24th Ave SW.
  3. Take OK Hwy 9 eastbound a few miles, crossing traffic signals at 24th Ave SW, McGee, Imhoff, Chautauqua, Jenkins and 12th Ave SE.
  4. Get into the right hand (southmost) lane.
  5. Take the US Hwy 77 Norman/Purcell exit on your right hand (south) side.
  6. At the bottom of the exit, turn right (northbound) onto Classen Blvd.
  7. The Quality Inn will be shortly on your right (east).
