GOOGLE SUMMER OF CODE 2014
http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/homepage/google/gsoc2014

For those of you in contact with undergraduate students:

If you know any that have some programming skills and are
interested in physics, please let them know that CERN is again
this year a mentoring organization for Google Summer of Code
(GSoC).

This pays a stipend of $5500 for three months work, and they can
work from wherever they are located.

Please point any interested undergraduates at the GSoC page:

http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/homepage/google/gsoc2014

for more information about the program.

Note the timeline, which requires them to apply fairly soon.

The specific page with a list of the project ideas from CERN is
here:

http://sftweb.cern.ch/gsoc14/

Note that they should send a mail to sft-gsoc@cern.ch to discuss
projects with the various participants at CERN, although I can
also answer some questions.
