Driving Directions to
Carson Engineering Center

  1. From I-35, take the Norman Main Street eastbound exit, labeled "Downtown" (exit #109).
  2. After a few blocks, you'll reach a traffic light at 24th Ave SW. Turn right (southbound) onto 24th.
  3. Take 24th several blocks to a traffic light at Boyd St. Turn left (eastbound) onto Boyd.
  4. Go 1 to 2 miles on Boyd, crossing traffic lights at streets such as Berry, Flood, Chautauqua, Elm and University.
  5. NOTICE NOTICE NOTICE!
    This morning (Wed Sep 24), I discovered a sign outside the Union parking deck saying that the deck is reserved for an event today. So, I recommend that, instead of driving all the way to Asp (as described below), you turn right onto Elm and use the parking deck by the music building. (The two structures have the same architectural style; the parking deck is farther from Boyd.) Then, as you leave the parking deck, walk back to Boyd and walk eastbound on Boyd, deeper into campus, until you come to Asp. Carson is on the corner of Boyd & Asp.
  6. After University, the next traffic light is Asp Ave. Turn right (southbound) onto Asp.
  7. On Asp, about 2 blocks south of Boyd, on the right (west) side of Asp, is a parking deck. Park there. (Note that the parking deck costs $2/hour, but during the academic year the nearby faculty and student lots will be completely full. The nearest free lot that might have open spaces is at least half a mile away.)
  8. Leave the parking deck, walking back out onto Asp. You'll be roughly on the corner of Asp and Felgar.
  9. Walk northbound on Asp back toward Boyd. Carson Engineering Center is on the near right (southeast) corner of Asp and Boyd.

  1. From I-35, take the OK Hwy 9 eastbound exit, which on I-35 southbound is combined with the Lindsey Ave exit (exit #108).
  2. After about a mile, turn left (northbound) onto Jenkins Ave. On your right hand side, shortly after you turn onto Jenkins, you'll see the new Peggy & Charles Stephenson Research & Technology Center, where OSCER will be housed starting summer 2004.
  3. Take Jenkins about half a mile to Timberdell and turn left; if you miss Timberdell, you can take Cross Center Dr. or 4th St. (Note that Cross Center curves around and spits you out onto 4th; turn left onto 4th then right onto Asp.)
  4. Go a few blocks to Asp Ave.
  5. OCCE is on Asp between Timberdell and 4th (from Timberdell turn right; from 4th turn left).
